How we get paid

Carriers pay PrecisionConnect a commission when you order service through us. You never receive an invoice from us, and your rate is the same as buying direct — the commission comes out of the carrier's sales budget, the same budget that pays their own reps. The bill audit is free either way.

No invoice from us, ever No markups on quotes Contracts stay between you and the carrier

PAY-01

Who pays PrecisionConnect?

The carriers do. Every major carrier sells through two channels: its own direct sales reps, and independent partners like us — the industry calls us agents, brokers, or technology advisors. When a partner brings the carrier a customer, the carrier pays the partner a commission instead of paying its own rep.

That's the entire model. There is no version of this where you get a bill from PrecisionConnect. The audit itself earns us nothing — it's how we earn the chance to help. We're paid a commission, usually with a monthly residual, only when you buy new or replacement service through us.

Commission
A recurring (residual) payment from the carrier to the broker — typically a percentage of your monthly bill, paid for as long as you stay a customer. It comes from the carrier's sales budget, not added to your rate.
Technology services distributor (TSD)
Also called a master agency. The back-office organization that holds the actual contracts with dozens of carriers, so independent brokers can quote all of them. Ours: Telarus and ACS Cloud Partners.

Does using a broker make my service cost more?

No. Carriers price the same whether you buy from their direct rep or through a partner — the commission replaces the cost of the direct rep, it doesn't stack on top of your rate. We add no markup and no fees of our own.

In practice, quotes through a broker are often sharper for a simple reason: the carrier's rep knows you're seeing their competitors' numbers on the same page.

Doesn't commission bias your recommendations?

It could — you're right to ask, and any broker who says the incentive doesn't exist is lying to you. Here's how we keep it honest:

  1. You see every quote. All serviceable carriers, in one comparison, with real monthly recurring charges and contract terms. We don't pre-filter to the ones that pay us best.
  2. "Stay put" is always on the table. If the right answer is keeping your current service, that's the recommendation — even when it pays us nothing.
  3. The audit findings are yours, unconditionally. You can take the report to your current carrier and negotiate yourself. Some clients do exactly that.
  4. The contract is never with us. You sign with the carrier directly. If we ever gave you a reason to walk away, you could — without touching your service.

Portfolio size matters here too — the more carriers we can quote, the less any one of them matters to us. We quote 100+ carriers and providers through Telarus and ACS Cloud Partners.

PAY-04

What if the best answer is to buy nothing?

Then we tell you to buy nothing, and we earn nothing on that advice. It's the cost of the model, and we accept it — a business owner who got a straight answer this year is the one who calls us when the lease is up, when the office moves, or when a friend asks who handles their phones.

Sometimes there's a middle path: we can often re-sign you with your current carrier at a current market rate. You keep the service you like, your bill drops, and the carrier pays us for the renewal. Everyone can live with that math.

PAY-05

Do you mark up quotes or add fees?

No. No markups, no "consulting fees," no percentage of savings, no invoice of any kind. The rate on your quote is the carrier's rate. If a charge from PrecisionConnect ever appears anywhere, something has gone wrong — call us.

PAY-06

Why does using an independent broker matter?

We don't work for any single carrier. A carrier's own sales rep is paid to sell that carrier and protect its margins — they can't quote you a competitor. PrecisionConnect is carrier-agnostic: we shop multiple carriers against each other and represent you, not a network. Whether you're the office manager, the IT lead, a CIO or CISO, or the owner, you get one advisor who answers to you.

Here's the real advantage: at most addresses, more than one carrier can serve you. You might have AT&T today, but Spectrum may reach the same suite — and for the same basic speed, switching can cost less. We check every carrier that can reach your address and bring back the lowest price for the service you need. Our portfolio: 100+ carriers and providers through Telarus and ACS Cloud Partners.

Trust is the currency of B2B. We lead with value, not price, and we'd rather earn a long relationship than win a single transaction. If the right answer is to keep what you have, that's the answer you'll get.

Now you know the model. Test it.
